The Office of the Special Commissioner of Investigation (SCI) is the independent watchdog for the New York City school district, the largest school district in the country.
SCI has autonomy and authority to investigate allegations of criminality, corruption, and wrongdoing concerning the New York City Department of Education, its schools, its vendors, and its retirement systems.
Every officer and employee of the New York City Department of Education is obligated to immediately report to SCI wrongdoing in the school system. We also urge parents, students, and other concerned members of the community to get involved and help our children.
