The office of the Special Commissioner of Investigation for the New York City School District (“SCI”) is a New York City governmental agency that investigates allegations of corruption, criminality, conflicts of interest, or unethical conduct within the New York City School District and the Department of Education (“DOE”) by employees of the DOE or others doing business with or receiving funds from the DOE, or with the retirement systems connected with DOE employment.
